Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Megaphone (“Megaphone,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit joinmegaphone.com, purchase a subscription on the web, redeem access, or use the Megaphone iOS app (together, the “Services”).

Information we collect

Website information

Our launch website is a static site. We do not use website accounts, advertising cookies, or browser storage for analytics. We use PostHog in cookieless mode to understand page visits, referring campaigns, device and browser categories, clicks, scroll depth, performance, errors, and aggregate heatmaps. We do not record session replays. Like most hosting and analytics providers, Vercel and PostHog may briefly process request information such as an IP address to deliver, secure, and measure the website; our analytics configuration does not retain the full IP address.

Web checkout and subscription information

When you buy through a RevenueCat-hosted purchase link, RevenueCat collects information needed for checkout and subscription management, including your email address, selected plan, purchase and renewal dates, subscription status, customer identifier, and entitlement records. Stripe processes the payment method and transaction for RevenueCat Billing. Megaphone does not receive or store your full payment-card number, security code, or full bank-account details. We may receive limited payment information such as payment status, transaction identifiers, billing country, tax information, card brand, and the last four digits where made available.

App account and usage information

After you install the app and redeem web access, the app may use Firebase Authentication to create or identify your Megaphone account. We may process your account identifier, email address, RevenueCat customer identifier, active entitlement and subscription state, app settings, feature use, diagnostic information, and support communications. Content processed to provide app features may include video URLs you paste, source text, topics, prompts, scripts, creator preferences, and script text submitted for voice synthesis.

How we use information

• Provide, secure, maintain, and improve the Services.
• Process purchases, apply the Megaphone Pro entitlement, support redemption, and synchronize access across devices.
• Send transaction, redemption, renewal, cancellation, and customer-service communications.
• Prevent fraud, abuse, duplicate redemption, and unauthorized access.
• Comply with tax, accounting, legal, and regulatory obligations.

How information is shared

We share information with service providers only as needed to operate the Services. These currently include our Gen.C backend at gencapp.pro for processing app requests; Anthropic for AI-assisted script generation, rewriting, pattern extraction, and voice synthesis; ScrapeCreators for extracting transcripts from video URLs; Mixpanel for app usage analytics that exclude scripts, video URLs, and recordings; PostHog for cookieless website analytics and aggregate heatmaps; RevenueCat for subscription billing, entitlement records, redemption, and customer-portal functions; Stripe for payment processing; Firebase/Google for app identity and related app services; Vercel for website hosting and delivery; and Apple for App Store distribution and purchases made through Apple. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies and, where applicable, our agreements with them.

We may also disclose information when required by law; to protect users, Megaphone, or others; in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets; or with your direction or consent. We do not sell personal information for money or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising at launch.

TikTok sharing

When you choose Share to TikTok, the Megaphone iOS app uses TikTok Share Kit to hand the exported video you selected to TikTok and open TikTok’s posting flow. Megaphone does not use this integration to read your TikTok profile or existing TikTok videos. TikTok processes the selected content and any information you provide in its posting flow under TikTok’s Privacy Policy.

Web billing, Apple billing, and redemption

A purchase made through the Megaphone website is billed through RevenueCat Billing and processed by Stripe. A purchase made inside the iOS app is billed by Apple. Web purchasers receive a RevenueCat redemption link, which is used on an iPhone to associate the web subscription with the RevenueCat customer used by the app. This process may connect checkout email and subscription records with the Firebase identity used in the app.

Retention and security

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain subscription and entitlement history, meet tax and accounting requirements, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with law. Retention periods vary by record type and legal requirement. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, but no method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, or restriction of certain personal information, or to object to certain processing. To submit a request, email admin@joinmegaphone.com. We may need to verify your identity. Subscription cancellation does not automatically delete records we must retain for legitimate business or legal purposes.

Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.

International use

Megaphone and its service providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Those countries may have different data-protection laws. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Services or applicable law changes. We will post the revised policy here and update the effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through the app, website, or email where appropriate.
